* Be sure to take out your garbage by 8:30 am on the designated collection day.
* The collection day is different for different areas.
* Garbage will not be collected on Sundays, May 3-5 and December 31-January 3.

Burnable Garbage (Moyaseru Gomi) : Thrice Weekly

Kitchen Waste, Waste Paper, Tree, Branches, Disposal Napkins / Sanitary Items, Cigarette Butts, etc.

What to do: Put the garbage in a paper bag and then seal it. Use of plastic bags or cartons is not allowed.


Chinaware, Glass, etc. : Once Monthly

Chinaware, Glass Tumblers, Cosmetic Bottles, Mirrors, Electric Bulbs, Kitchen Knives, etc.

What to do: Put the garbage in a plastic bag (any color except black).


Plastics to Recycle : Once Weekly

Grocery Bags, Pastry Bags, Sauce Containers, etc.

What to do: Put the garbage in a plastic bag (any color except black).


Other Plastics : Once Weekly

Toys, Stationary, Plastic Utensils, CDs/Video tapes, etc.

What to do: Put the garbage in a plastic bag (any color except black).


Natural (Recyclable) Garbage (Shigen Gomi) : Once Weekly

*Papers: Newspapers, Magazines, Cartons, Milk Packets, Paper Boxes, etc.
*Fabrics: Clothes, Blankets, etc.
*Bottles (Except Cosmetic Bottles) 
*Cans, Metals: Electric Fans, Gas Stoves, etc.
 *For Spray Cans, make sure all the contents have been used up and 
  DO NOT cut or make holes on it.
*Bicycles: Be sure to paste "SHIGEN GOMI"or "しげんごみ" sticker on it.

What to do: Put it in a plastic bag (any color except black).
                   For Papers or Fabrics, just bind them with a cord. 


Harmful Garbage (Yugai Gomi) : Once Weekly

Batteries, Fluorescent Lamps, Thermometers, etc.

What to do: Put the garbage in a plastic bag (any color except black).
                   Be sure to write "Yugai Gomi" or "ゆうがいごみ" on it.


PET Bottles : Collected by Collaborating Stores

The following 4 types of bottles; Drink, Soy sauce, Liquor, Seasoning Sake (Mirin) 

What to do: 1) Remove the Caps  2) Rinse the inside  3) Crush it


Bulk Garbage (Sodai Gomi) : 
    1,000 yen/item Individual Collection

Beds, Chests, Sofas, Microwaves, Stereo Players, Metal Lockers, etc.

What to do: 1) Call the Bulk Garbage Collection Center (Sodai Gomi Uketsuke Center: Phone 047-391-0007)  2) Buy a Bulk Garbage Processing Ticket (Sodai Gomi Shoriken: 1,000 yen / item)  3) Write your name on the ticket and paste it on the item.


Non- Collectable Garbage by the City

*Washing Machines, CRT TVs, Air Conditioners, Refrigerators, Freezers 
 ---The store from where you bought the item will collect it after payment of a fee.
*Large Garbage generated when relocating
 ---Take directly to the city's Garbage Processing Plant or make a request to a private contractor.
