Cherry Blossom Festival (Sakura Matsuri)

"Cherry Avenue" in Tokiwadaira has been chosen as one of Japan's One Hundred Avenues by the Ministry of Construction. The Cherry Blossom Festival, held annually on a weekend in early April, attracts over 400,000 visitors.

Fireworks Display (Hanabi Taikai)

Held on the Edogawa Riverbank in August, Matsudo's fireworks have become part of the summer scenery of the city.

Matsudo Festival (Matsudo Matsuri)

Ferryboat at Yakiri (Yakiri No Watashi)

The 380-year long tradition of ferryboat service is alive on the Edogawa River, connecting Shimoyakiri in Matsudo and Shibamata in Katsushika, Tokyo.

[Hours] 10:00am-4:00pm

[Closed] Weekdays (December - March), Rainy days, etc.

[Fare] 100 yen/adult  50yen/child

Get on the bus bound for Ichikawa station from West exit of Matsudo station.

    Get off at Shimoyagiri bus stop and walk for 30 minutes.

Tojogaoka History Park (Tojogaoka Rekishi Koen)

The Tojo Residence, part of the residence for Tokugawa Akitake, 11th household head of the Mito Tokugawa clan, was built in 1884 according to the architectural style of upper-class mansions.
The Tojo Residence has been designated as a National Important Cultural Property.
Tojo History Museum displays assets and materials related to the Tokugawa's of Matsudo.

Forest and Park for the 21st Century (Nijuisseki No Mori To Hiroba)

This 50.5 hectares park was built in almost the center of the city by utilizing the remaining nature.
Divided into three themes -nature, recreation and culture-this park houses the park center that provides information about the nature , the 5-hectare Sendabori Pond, Midori-no-Sato, designed to recreate an atmosphere of the farming village, multi-purpose spaces, and a cafe.

Eucalyptus Traffic Safety Education Park (Yukari Kotsu Koen)

This park is designed for children to learn traffic rules while playing. It also exhibits a D51 locomotive and helicopter.

Commonly known as the "Temple of Hydrangeas," this temple offers beautiful flowers in all seasons, The spring cherry blossoms and colored leaves in the fall are sights to see.

Manmanji Temple

It is believed that this temple was built with cultural influences of the Kamakura period in the mid-13th century. It houses a statue of Deva King, an important cultural asset designated by the Japanese government.
